Name: Olusegun J Cadmus
Programme: MSc in International Management
Date Started: 2004
Where is your home town and what is it like?
I am from Nigeria, and it is a wonderful country, full of natural and
cultural diversity. The population is over 100 million people, from different
ethnic groups. It’s very warm, ranging from 18-35 degrees centigrade,
and the people are kind and friendly, always taking you as part of their
family wherever you come from. Nigeria is truly a great country: the great
lion of Africa.
What did you do before your Masters?
I was a student at Obafemi Awolowo University, Ile-Ife, Osun State, Nigeria.
What are the best things about the MSc course?
Globalisation is an area of major concern to organisations, and the ability
to understand how to run multinational companies is not only an asset,
but also a necessity. International Management closes that gap, teaching
you how to manage in regional and international companies. Wherever you
are placed, your presence and contribution will always be noticed.
Why did you decide to pursue a business degree?
The universal language of the world is business. People from all works
of life and careers, are suddenly pursuing business degrees, because they
have seen its unquestionable importance. I too wanted to learn how to
satisfy the wants and needs of people through the provision of goods and
services, while receiving, in return, my share of satisfaction as well.
In business, everybody wins.
What made you choose Loughborough University?
Loughborough University, being one of the best universities in the UK
is the place for me. It offers so much: apart from degree courses, Loughborough
holds one of the highest employability ratings for its graduates. Would
I have chosen any other university? No.
What are the best things about the Midlands?
The Midlands can be very quiet, a good atmosphere for learning and relaxing,
but you can work hard and also play hard.
What are your plans when you finish?
My goal is to offer my knowledge and experience to enterprises who would
find my expertise useful, promoting their businesses and attaining their
objectives, quickly, effectively and efficiently.
What is the one piece of advice you would give to students thinking about
doing the course next year?
Be ready to work hard and know what you want to do.
